After the success of Kaputol Ng Isang Awit, Glaiza De Castro is back.

Her debut album under Dyna Records simply titled ‘Glaiza’ was finally launched last night at the Metro Walk.

Though the album was originally released last year, it was never launched.

But now that Glaiza’s already been noticed not only as an actress but also as a singer, it’s a good decision for Dyna Records to finally have the album launched at the same time it’s a big step forward for Glaiza’s career as a singer.

The album has 11 cuts including the carrier single Paano.

‘Glaiza’ is now available in record stores nationwide.

Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita and Tasya Fantasya star Yasmien Kurdi is a candidate for this year’s PETAs Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity.

Aside from Yas, other local celebrities in the list are Geneva Cruz, Alicia Meyer and Chin-Chin Gutierrez among others. The list also includes Hollywood celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Natalie Portman, Alicia Silverstone and many more.

“Sa totoo lang, hindi ko nga rin po alam kung paano ko napasama!” she said smiling. “Sa mga fans, sa ilang reporters ko na lang din po nalaman yung tungkol sa contest na yun. So kung puwede, iboto n’yo ako!”

However she clarified that she’s not expecting to win the said poll.

“Hindi ko po alam kung matagal na yung voting online. I’m not into it naman kasi.

“Grabe, ang hirap kaya ng mga kalaban! Kaloka kaya! Imagine, Natalie Portman, Pamela Anderson, Simon Cowell, at marami pang-iba. Kasi may mga list pa rin sa mga male celebrities naman,” natatawang sabi ni Yasmien.

According to Yas, she started being a vegetarian last year. She made it clear though that her main reason of going into a vegetarian diet is her affection to animals.

I’m asking people to liberate their diet at i-try ang vegetable,” she pleads. “Sa dami ng mga masasarap na alternative foods, mae-enjoy pa rin naman yung pagkain na, at the same time, hindi na nakaka-harm ng mga animals.”

She also said that she’s not affected by rumors that she’s not a true vegetarian because she didn’t lose that much weight.

“Hay naku, try kaya nilang bumili ng barbecue sa Bodhi at Greens. At saka hindi naman porke’t kumakain ka ng gulay, magiging stick ka na.”

Last Friday, Kapuso shows Kaputol Ng Isang Awit and Dyesebel ruled the daytime and primetime race, respectively.

The country’s longest-running noontime show re-captured the No. 1 spot last Saturday with 24.6% followed by Startalk’s 23.3%. Takeshi’s Castle is third with 17.7%.

In the primetime race, PBB Teen Edition Plus finale took the top spot by virtue of its 33.8% rating. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho is second with 26.6% and Bitoy’s Funniest Videos with 26.5% at third place.

Meanwhile, Billy Crawford’s first appearance on ASAP ‘08 took the show all the way to No. 1 with a 17% rating. The second part of Showbiz Central’s month-long anniversary special which paid tribute to Rudy ‘Daboy’ Fernandez once again got the better of its opponent as it garnered 16% rating to sit at the No. 2 spot.

In Sunday’s primetime, PBB Teen Edition Plus the Reunion once again took control of the race with 24.7% rating closely followed by Mel & Joey with 24.4% and Pinoy Idol’s Elimination Night tied with Goin’ Bulilit at third place with 21%.

Monday saw Kapuso shows Kaputol Ng Isang Awit and Dyesebel once again on top. Kapamilya show My Girl is once again going strong as it move up to No. 5 with a 27% rating.

Kapuso Network’s newest Koreanovela Dalja’s Spring debuts at No. 10 with 19.2%.

Controversial showbiz mom and talent manager Annabelle Rama has signed an exclusive movie contract with GMA Films.

She will be doing three movies in two years.

My Monster Mom, Annabelle’s comeback movie with daughter Ruffa Gutierrez is a co-production of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment.

The movie is directed by Jose Javier Reyes.

My Monster Mom opens July 2 in more than 100 theaters nationwide.

Regine admitted during the press conference of the animated film Urduja at the Imperial Palace Suites last June 7 that she’s proud to be a part of such a wonderful project.

“First of all, hindi ito kasama sa pangarap ko,” she confessed. “Kumbaga, bonus ito na binigay sa akin na pagkakataon. Di ba, kapag nanonood ka ng mga cartoons, sina Demi Moore, Brad Pitt yung nagbo-boses? Parang nakakatuwa, and Urduja came along.

“So when I was asked to do this film, hindi talaga ako nag-hesitate at nakita ko talaga nung nag-uumpisa na, nagda-dubbing na kami meron kaming konti-konti na nakikitang animation.”

“I feel very proud and one thing also, alam ninyo yung mga napapanood nating animated movie from Walt Disney, ganyan, karamihan doon mga Pilipino ang gumagawa. Hindi lang po sila nare-rercognize. But this time, they’re being recognized and I think that’s something to be proud of.”

“Maganda talaga yung movie and nagpapakumbaba naman kami na hindi nga namin kayang pantayan yung… First of all, masyado na silang advance. Masyado rin silang maraming ginawa at masyado ring marami silang money. Pero Urduja is something to be proud of.”

“If you watch the movie it’s a very, very beautiful movie. Pilipinong-Pilipino. May love story, pero meron ding conflict na makiikita. Makikita rin natin doon yung ating kultura,” she told the press.

Regine also sings the theme song of Urduja entitled Babae Ako with music by Ogie Alcasid and lyrics by Joey De Leon.

Urduja is produced by APT Entertainment Seventoon and Imaginary Friends and will be released by GMA Films.

Urduja will open in more than 100 theaters nationwide on June 18.

This is another milestone for GMA Network, Inc. and for Filipino works to be recognized abroad. This year’s competition was being participated by 23 countries.

Pambansang Kamao and Kapuso Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao in a phone patch interview from Los Angeles, California said that he’s training hard right now in preparation for his fight with David Diaz dubbed as Lethal Combination.

Manny is very positive that he will get the title.

Aside from his training, he is also losing weight to reach the 135 lbs. requirement for the lightweight division.

When asked who will sing the Philippine National Anthem?

Manny said that they’re still in the process of selection and will reveal their choice in the coming days.

In her interview with PEP, Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita and Tasya Fantasya star Yasmien Kurdi denied rumors that she got jealous when she heard that JC De Vera and Michelle Madrigal have a kissing in scene in the movie My Monster Mom.

“Bakit ko naman gagawin iyon e trabaho naman nila ‘yon?” she stressed. “‘Tsaka hindi ako nakikialam sa anumang trabaho pa ni JC. Concern ko lang ay ang work namin na magkasama kami. Nangungumusta lang naman ako. Wala naman sigurong masama roon.”

“Bakit naman ako magseselos? Kami ba ni JC? Hindi naman, ‘di ba?” she said smiling.

“Professional lang kaming dalawa ni JC. Walang selosan sa trabaho namin. Magkakilala naman kami ni Michelle. Kaya walang problema sa aming dalawa,” she added.

She said that she’s all praises for JC most especially in their soap Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita. She said that she’s impressed on how well JC did a heavy dramatic scene together with Ms. Dina Bonnevie.

“Nagulat din ako kasi ang laki na ng naging improvement ni JC. Before kasi parang okey lang. Pero itong scene with Ms. D, talagang nadala niya. Kaya na niyang magdala ng eksena. Kaya proud na proud ako sa kanya,” she continued.

Since Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita is already about to end, is it okay with Yas that JC will now be partnered with Rhian Ramos in GMA 7’s new show La Lola?

“Okey lang naman. Hindi naman kasi puwedeng kami na lang parati. It’s time na rin na matambal siya sa iba. Anyway, na-prove naman na namin na may market kaming dalawa ni JC. Nakatatlong soap dramas na kami, siguro time na sa iba na kami itambal muna.

“Tulad ngayon nga, may show siya with Rhian. Ako naman may Tasya Pantasya pa rin with Rainier Castillo. Pero may movie naman kami ni JC na magkasama. Yung Loving You. Malapit na rin ipalabas ‘yon. Kaya hindi kami mami-miss ng mga fans namin,” she ended.
