Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita and Tasya Fantasya star Yasmien Kurdi is a candidate for this year’s PETAs Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity.
Aside from Yas, other local celebrities in the list are Geneva Cruz, Alicia Meyer and Chin-Chin Gutierrez among others. The list also includes Hollywood celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Natalie Portman, Alicia Silverstone and many more.
“Sa totoo lang, hindi ko nga rin po alam kung paano ko napasama!” she said smiling. “Sa mga fans, sa ilang reporters ko na lang din po nalaman yung tungkol sa contest na yun. So kung puwede, iboto n’yo ako!”
However she clarified that she’s not expecting to win the said poll.
“Hindi ko po alam kung matagal na yung voting online. I’m not into it naman kasi.
“Grabe, ang hirap kaya ng mga kalaban! Kaloka kaya! Imagine, Natalie Portman, Pamela Anderson, Simon Cowell, at marami pang-iba. Kasi may mga list pa rin sa mga male celebrities naman,” natatawang sabi ni Yasmien.
According to Yas, she started being a vegetarian last year. She made it clear though that her main reason of going into a vegetarian diet is her affection to animals.
I’m asking people to liberate their diet at i-try ang vegetable,” she pleads. “Sa dami ng mga masasarap na alternative foods, mae-enjoy pa rin naman yung pagkain na, at the same time, hindi na nakaka-harm ng mga animals.”
She also said that she’s not affected by rumors that she’s not a true vegetarian because she didn’t lose that much weight.
“Hay naku, try kaya nilang bumili ng barbecue sa Bodhi at Greens. At saka hindi naman porke’t kumakain ka ng gulay, magiging stick ka na.”
